ECinema Debuts $8,000 10-Bit Monitor

ECinema's latest offering for critical viewing in the high-end display market is the PRO-2310, a 23-inch HD display with a native 10-bit LCD panel priced at under $8,000. The pricey but extremely accurate screen is aimed at production and post professionals who really, really need to see exactly what their HD images look like.

The PRO-2310 uses eCinema's 48-bit PureStream image processor to safeguard against data loss, and employs iSIM technology — an interlaced-simulation mode that takes advantage of the screen's 120 Hz scanning rate — when needed to mimic the look of an interlaced CRT.

The display has a still store, graticule generator, and focus enhancement built in. It ships with four 4:2:2 inputs, which can be optionally configured as two dual-link 4:4:4 or 3G sources. Down the road, eCinema plans to enhance the unit with 2K monitoring and full real-time 3D support with active-shutter glasses.
