Press Release

Ciprico Inc., a leading storage solutions provider for the content creation, broadcast and delivery markets, today announced general availability of the latest member of its DiMeda NAS family, the 10G, which allows multiple creative users to share and view both uncompressed Standard Definition and compressed High Definition content over 10Gb Ethernet.
The first DiMeda product was introduced in 2002 and has been widely deployed in content creation and delivery applications, including major broadcast newsroom production and automation, regional broadcaster production and play to air, cable network delivery including Video on Demand. With Ethernet becoming the pervasive infrastructure in these environments for multi-stream sharing and delivery of formats such as DV25/50 and MPEG-2, 10Gb Ethernet components have become financially attractive, so DiMeda 10G presents users with a simple, plug-and-play, high performance alternative to SAN-based systems, extending those capabilities into areas employing compressed HD formats such as HDV in broadcast and JPEG 2000 in digital cinema.
“10G is the logical next step in the DiMeda product lineup,” said James Hansen, Chairman and CEO of Ciprico. “It takes the market knowledge and experience we’ve gained in broadcast with the 1700 and 3600 models and allows us to penetrate those enterprises now upgrading to 10Gb Ethernet infrastructure with performance-driven digital media applications.”
