Shutterstock Reaches 650,000 High-Quality Video Clips, Offers Mobile Solutions
Shutterstock Images, a leading provider of high-quality stock photography, vectors, illustrations, and footage, has reached a new milestone by exceeding 650,000 video clips in its premium collection. With the recent unveiling of its new HTML5 video player, the global image marketplace has also made it possible for users to browse its hundreds of thousands of clips on leading mobile devices, including the iPad and iPhone.
Dedicated to high-quality content, Shutterstock continues to procure material from some of the world’s best filmmakers. “We’re working with top contributors in every category,” says VP of Content Scott Braut, “from timelapse and editorial to landscapes and fashion, and beyond.” With some of the best licensable content on the web, and clips starting at just $19 for web formats and $79 for HD, the stock video site has become an obvious favorite among advertisers, marketers, and filmmakers.
A recent partnership with award-winning documentary filmmaker Rick Ray facilitated the addition of thousands of SD and HD clips to Shutterstock’s library, ranging from aerial shots to extreme sports, while the site’s inclusion of 5,000 videos from the Everett Collection’s RetroKlips offers a rich stockpile of vintage live-action and animation footage.
“As a global marketplace for imagery, video is an important initiative for Shutterstock, and one with increasing demand and opportunity,” says company President Thilo Semmelbauer. “We are very excited to welcome new talent in every visual category, and are always looking for new ways to provide a dynamic marketplace.”
