There’s a cool new technology coming out of Alienware, a manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook, media center and professional systems: Alienware Liquid Cooling technology, launched across the company’s complete line of desktop workstations. Though the name implies something akin to antifreeze for your computer, Alienware Liquid Cooling is actually a small, low-noise fan that cools the components surrounding the processor, letting systems operate at less than 35 dB. It was designed to be maintenance-free and to substantially reduce overall system noise levels by eliminating the need for secondary internal fans. The company claims that makes for reliable, longer-lasting operation. The Alienware Liquid Cooling system also helps keep system components running at optimal efficiency, delivering up to a 30 percent improvement in thermal performance (as much as 15 to 20 degrees). Nice to know you’ve got some extra power under the hood the next time you try to overclock your desktop. Price N/A.
