The hit of SIGGRAPH was undoubtedly the Mova Countour motion capture
system, a markerless system using makeup and rapidly flashing lights,
both invisible to the naked eye, capable of recording movements as
subtle as flaring nostrils and from multiple angles simultaneously.
Suffice it to say, the level of detail this system will capture is an
enormous leap forward in mo-cap technology. In this video Steve
Perlman, founder of Mova, walks us through how the Contour works and
what it will mean for the future of mocap.
