Avid Shows New Thinking at Editors Lounge

If you’ve been watching these AlphaDogs Editors’ Lounge videos you know that these guys can be quite tough on manufacturers, and Avid in particular recently. Avid reps jumped into this fire to show their latest hardware (Nitris DX and Mojo DX) and software versions (Media Composer and Symphony 3) last month. The reaction, somehwhat surprisingly for this crowd, was overwhelming positive. They even cheered. So what has them excited about Avid’s new releases?

Avid reps spoke about major advances, including performance improvements and the ability to mix formats in the timeline as well as select raster types, but they also showed off the smaller changes that will make editors’ lives easier. And if you are patient, there’s a few hints about Avid’s future plans to deal with footage from the RED camera. Watch it all below.
